"Aussie Dendrobiums and their Cultivation"

Fred Clarke, Sunset Valley Orchid
will be speaking on Australian Dendrobiums

Australian Dendrobiums are bred with species that originate only in Australia. The Aussies have done amazing work in the breeding of these and they have become very popular in Australia.

Fred is doing pioneering work in bringing a selection of these plants to the U.S. market. Here's how he describes his talk:

"Our friends down under have been breeding their native Dendrobiums and creating some fantastic flowers, the word is out."

"Aussie Dens are easy to grow, tolerant of heat and cold, have fragrant flowers, and re-bloom from the old bulbs."

"They grow well with Cattleyas and in frost free areas they are perfect plants for the shade house. A PowerPoint presentation. "

The Orchid Society of Greater Kansas City was founded in 1949 for the purpose of bringing together those persons in the heart of America who were interested in the care and culture of orchids so their experience and knowledge could be shared to the benefit of all. Its members have met each month since that time to share their interest in growing orchids. Society activities are varied and include topics of interest to growers at all levels. Members bring plants to meetings for judging and "show and tell." Guest speakers provide ongoing education regarding orchid topics including care and culture, pest and disease control, habitat preservation, flower arranging and plant display techniques, just to name a few. The Society also hosts special events including shows, sales, auctions and tours.

Guests are always welcome!
